Hong Kong
1.) The US dollar is equivalent to 8 Hong Kong Dollars! This means 200 Hong Kong dollars can buy a ton of stuff at really good prices instead of overpriced Europe.
2.) People in Asian countries love English text on t-shirts even if it makes no sense. Some of my favorites are “LET’S ENJOY BEACH PARTY” and “CREATE ALL SKYDIVERS” (the second made me cry because it was a really nice shirt.)
Indonesia
1.) People are absolutely fearless on motorbikes. Not like LA we ride between car crazy, but like guy with his girlfriend riding on the bike not holding on going 2 motorbikes wide through cars on the highway. I was saying “OH GOD OH GOD” the whole drive thinking we’d hit about 20 of them. I think the term I used was “domino effect of death.”
2.) There are such badass statues here. So far I’ve seen an incredible fountain with tons of dragons spitting water out and then 5 huge horses with a huge badass guy holding a sword/club into the air standing on two of the horses heads. SO COOL.
3.) There are monkeys in this country. A lot of them. I have dedicated the next 2 days to my new mission: MONKEY HUNT 2011. I don’t even care if I get diseases, I will get pictures with monkeys and steal one for my house.
